LUCINDAS DAY SPA

-Bob Tgettis

“In the fall of 2004, Lucinda and I were planning on expanding our existing Day Spa to a second location. We settled on a very attractive piece of commercial property in Cumberland Foreside and began the process of designing a new

facility. The location has adjacent residential property and our goal was to create a facility compatible with the

location and attractive to our clients, many of whom were already familiar with us.

From the beginning, the Town Planner, the Planning Board and the Town Council made us feel welcome and encouraged to build our facility in Cumberland. The town also encouraged neighborhood input and worked to be sure that there was a high comfort level and understanding of what was expected from both us and the town.

From our first meetings to the completion and opening of Lucinda’s Day Spa Cumberland Foreside in July 2005, our questions and inspections (of which we had many) were professionally and pleasantly handled by all the Cumberland staff and officials.

Lucinda’s Day Spa looks  forward to continuing success at both great locations and we are pleased and proud of our new location and our working relationship with the Cumberland community and officials. “

SWEETSERS APPLE BARREL AND ORCHARDS

-Greg Sweetser

“Town officials have been very supportive of our business over the years. Just recently, when Blanchard Road was reconstructed, the Town was proactive in contacting us to discuss the construction timetable, so that any interference to our business was manageable. In 2000, the Town Council worked with us to clarify a zoning  issue that could have impacted our agricultural business in the town center. The town gave very public support of the newly formed Farmers’ Market, demonstrating their commitment to those businesses connected to agriculture. I would say to anyone that it means a great deal to local businesses to have access to all departments in the municipality to ask questions, clarify issues, and simply engage in dialogue about local issues. With the new commercial areas in Cumberland, I look forward to meeting new business people in town.”

The Sweetser family looks forward to celebrating its 200th  anniversary of the Blanchard Road Homestead in 2012.
